Viralologist Meenal Dakhave Bhonsle, who gave India the first Corona Virus Testing Kit made in India, is the head of research and development at Mylab Discovery, Pune. She has created a 'Patho Detect' test kit under extremely subject conditions that checks for corona virus infection in just two and a half hours. When given the responsibility to Minal, she was in her last month of pregnancy and was facing deadlines. She gave birth to her baby girl on March 19, while just a day before that, she handed over the test kit 'Patho Detect' to the National Institute of Virology for testing. This kit is much cheaper than a foreign kit and can be tested in just two and a half hours. Meenal's contribution will be the biggest in the fight to flee Corona from India. A team of 10 scientists worked with them day and night. It usually takes three to four months to prepare such a kit, but this team prepared it in a record time of six weeks. Kit supply has started in India. Next week, one lakh kits will be made and ready.
