Lucknow : The UP government instructed officers to order DRDO's anti-covid drug 2DG. CM Yogi gave instructions regarding the drug of DRDO. Instructions to send the medicine demand letter to the center 2DG has got permission for emergency use. Distribution of 2DG will be done at the level of Government of India. Instructions given to ensure supply in UP CM gave instructions to send demand letter to officers.
Explain that, "Defense Minister Rajnath Singh released the first batch of 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG), an adjunctive therapy for Kovid, 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG), in New Delhi on May 17, 2021. Handed over to the Minister of Family Welfare, Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
A box full of pouches of this medicine was also handed over to Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Lt. General Sunil Kant of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). More cans of this medicine will be handed over to various hospitals across the country for emergency use. Kovid 19 - resistant drug 2-deoxy-D-glucose (in combination with Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (DRL), Hyderabad) by the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), a laboratory of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) A therapeutic application of 2-DG) has been developed.
Speaking on the occasion, the Defense Minister described this medicine as a perfect example of the country's scientific skills and a milestone towards self-sufficiency. Rajnath Singh said that "2-DG medicine is a new ray of hope in this challenging time". He expressed confidence that the drug would play an important role in winning the battle against Kovid-19. He said that the development and production of this drug is a great example of public-private sector partnership to help the country in this challenging time. He further stated that when the conditions improve, he would personally like to honor all the scientists who played a major role in the development of this drug as they deserve credit for this achievement.
