Lockdown will remain in Delhi for two months? Learn what CM Arvind Kejriwal said 


 A lockdown has been in place since April 19 in view of the fast spreading corona infection in the capital Delhi. This lockdown is increasing daily the problems of poor people who work as laborers or street vendors. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a big announcement in the interest of poor people on Tuesday. All ration card holders residing in Delhi will get free ration for the next two months.


CM Arvind Kejriwal said in a press conference that we have decided that all ration card holders in Delhi (about 72 lakh in number) will be given free ration for the next 2 months. He points out that this does not mean that the lockdown will continue for 2 months. This is being done only to help the poor going through financial issues.


CM Arvind Kejriwal further said that the Delhi government will provide Rs 5000 as financial assistance to all taxi and auto drivers so that they can get some help during this financial crisis. CM said that this will help one lakh 65 thousand driverrate 


Infection rpercent close to 30 percent 

Delhi still remains close to 30 per cent like infection. There is also a shortage of covid beds, oxygen and medicines in the capital. Therefore, the government does not want to take any risk at the moment. Although the government has continued to exempt public transport, electricians, plumber, school bookstores in lockdown, but they will have to get e-passes.
