The rainy season has started. This season is very sensitive in terms of health. Food items are more prone to spoilage during this season. Consuming such foods can cause food poisoning.
What is Food Poisoning?
Food poisoning refers to "poisonous food". If a person starts vomiting, diarrhea between 1 to 6 hours after eating food, then it is food poisoning. It is very important to consult a doctor in case of food poisoning.
Why Food Poisoning Happens – It is usually caused by eating food containing bacteria, the common reason for this is Salmonella bacteria. Apart from this, botulinum bacteria, rotavirus, astrovirus or other parasites can also be the cause.
Symptoms of Food Poisoning-

- Headache
- diarrhea
Having some of these symptoms can be a sign of food poisoning.
Ways to avoid it:~
To avoid this, special care should be taken of cleanliness in the house.
Food should not be eaten outside, kept in open, dirty, very cold and unsafe places.
In this season, there is a possibility of getting mold early in bread, loaf etc. So do not consume them or take them fresh.
Take special care of the cleanliness of the kitchen.
Do not let dirt remain in the utensils.
Do not consume food kept in the fridge for a long time.
Home Remedies for Food Poisoning
1. Consume lemon- Lemon has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties. Therefore, drinking it kills the bacteria causing food poisoning. You can drink lemon water on an empty stomach or if you want, you can squeeze a little lemon in hot water and drink it.
2. Consumption of apple vinegar- Apple cider vinegar contains substances that increase the metabolic rate. It also helps in killing bad bacteria when consumed on an empty stomach.
3. Consume Tulsi- The antimicrobial properties present in Tulsi fight micro-organisms. You can consume basil in many ways. You can also drink basil leaves by adding it to water and tea.
4. Eat curd- Yogurt is a type of antibiotic, you can eat it by adding a little black salt to it.
